Did the United States take out a Satellite?

Well thats what they say. However, I have been thinking, and these are just my thoughts but if you wanted to have a test of a anti-satellite system this would be the best way to do it.

1. launch a shell to simulate a satellite.

2. say that it is a satellite that died and is endangering everyone on earth.

3. test your missile

4. The Target is exploded in orbit thus proving to the World that the United States, while acting in what is suppose to be a mission to save the planet, can also attack satellites.

I believe there is a un-written statement here. I believe this was a message to someone.

Interesting theory. I would add one idea to it--the US could have also put a bomb on the satellite to blow it up in case the missile test failed, i.e., to save face. If the missile missed, blow up the satellite remotely. Why wouldn't this be a standard feature anyhow on a highly sensitive spy satellite anyway? Seems like somebody would have thought of a way to destroy the satellite to avoid its info from falling into the wrong hands if this type of situation were to occur.
